Your scripts are yours.
Last updated October 11, 2026
- Your shows and scripts stay on your computer and in your own Google Drive. We never receive them.
- This website has no ads, no tracking and no cookies.
- If you reserve or buy, we keep your name, email and what you bought. Card details go to the payment company, never to us.
- We don’t sell your information or share it for advertising.
This policy explains how HitViz LLC (“we”, “us”), the company that makes Sitcom Garage, handles information on sitcomgarage.com, in the Sitcom Garage app for Windows and iPad, and when you reserve, back or buy it. Questions? Email hello@sitcomgarage.com.

1. This website
sitcomgarage.com is a plain web page. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics, ads or tracking. Our fonts and pictures are served from this website, not from outside services.
Like every website, our web host keeps standard server logs: the address your request came from (IP address), the page asked for, the time and your browser type. These are used only to keep the site working and safe, and the host deletes them on its own schedule.
2. Reserving and buying
When you reserve your VIP spot for $5 or buy Sitcom Garage, the payment is handled by our payment company. Your card number goes to them, not to us. We receive your name, email address, country, what you paid for, the amount and the date.
We use this to hold your VIP price, refund your reservation if you ask, send your receipt and confirmation, tell you when Sitcom Garage launches, deliver your licence and answer your questions. The payment company also uses your details to process the payment and prevent fraud, under its own privacy policy.
3. Emails from us
If you reserve, buy or sign up for news, we email you about Sitcom Garage: your reservation, the launch, the Kickstarter, your licence and updates. Every news email has a way to stop getting them. We still send emails you need about something you bought, like receipts and licence messages.
If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you.
4. Your shows in the app
Everything you write in Sitcom Garage, including shows, scripts, outlines, the show bible, pictures and versions, is saved on your computer and, when you turn it on, in your own Google Drive. Your iPad and computer sync with each other through your Drive.
None of it is sent to us. We have no copy of your work and no way to see it.
The app doesn’t track how you use it and doesn’t send us usage reports. Your App lock PIN is never stored. Only a scrambled check of it is kept, inside your own show data.
5. Google sign-in and Drive
To back up and sync, you sign in with your Google account. The app asks Google only for:
- Access to the files Sitcom Garage creates in your Drive. It can’t see your other Drive files.
- Your email address, so the app can show which account is connected.
- On the computer, permission to send one kind of email from your Gmail to yourself: the reset code for your delete lock. It sends nothing else and reads no mail.
Your Google sign-in is stored on your own devices, encrypted where the device allows it. On the iPad, the sign-in passes through a small helper we run so you stay signed in. The helper passes the sign-in straight back to your iPad and stores nothing and logs no passes.
Sitcom Garage’s use of information received from Google follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
The iPad app is loaded from a web address hosted by GitHub, which keeps standard server logs like any web host.
6. AI features
Sitcom Garage works without AI. If you choose to connect your own Claude or ChatGPT account, the AI features send the text they need straight from your device to that company (Anthropic or OpenAI). For example, punch-ups send the jokes and scene you ask about. This happens under your own agreement with that company. It doesn’t pass through us, and we don’t see it.
Your AI keys are stored on your own devices, encrypted on the computer. The app never sends the actor names you type, or the “Attitude is like” and “Humor is like” notes, to picture or plot AI.
7. Licences and devices
A licence covers one computer and one iPad. To keep track of that, when you activate Sitcom Garage our licence service records your licence number, a random ID for each device, the device name you see (for example “Mike’s PC”) and the dates it was added, last checked in and removed. It never receives your shows or scripts.
8. Kickstarter and the credits
If you back us on Kickstarter, Kickstarter handles your pledge and payment under its own privacy policy and shares your backer details and survey answers with us so we can send your licence and rewards.
Backers are thanked by name in the app’s About section only with your permission, using the name you choose. You can ask to stay anonymous, or to be removed in a later update.
9. Who else is involved
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it for advertising. The only companies that handle it for us are the ones that make the pieces above work:
- our web host (this website)
- our payment company (reservations and purchases)
- our email provider (sending and receiving email)
- Cloudflare (the iPad sign-in helper and the licence service)
- GitHub (where the iPad app is loaded from)
- Kickstarter (if you back the campaign)
Google, Anthropic and OpenAI are services you connect, under your own accounts. We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or if HitViz LLC or Sitcom Garage is sold or merged, in which case this policy would still apply to what you’ve already given us.
10. How long we keep things
- Reservation and purchase records: as long as you hold the reservation or licence, and as long as tax and accounting rules require afterwards.
- Email list: until you stop the emails or ask us to remove you.
- Licence device records: while the licence is active. A removed device’s record is deleted after 12 months.
- Your shows: we never have them. They stay where you keep them until you delete them.
11. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the information we have about you, or to stop using it for news emails. Email hello@sitcomgarage.com and we’ll reply within 30 days. We may need to keep some records the law requires, such as receipts. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU/UK), you may have further rights, and you won’t be treated differently for using them.
You can disconnect Google at any time in the app or in your Google account settings, and remove your AI keys in the app’s settings.
12. Children, safety and changes
Children: Sitcom Garage isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we’ll delete it.
Safety: we keep what we hold to the minimum, use well-known providers, and use secure (https) connections everywhere. No system is perfectly safe, so if something ever goes wrong that affects you, we’ll tell you.
Changes: if we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change is important, we’ll also email people who reserved or bought.
